A note from Bill about the puppets

Over the years I tried to bring a special brand of puppetry to the screen, a move away from the traditional sock puppet or the cloth covered foam ball with a big mouth. My creations were made of latex rubber and became 3-dimensional cartoons that, if operated correctly, appeared to be living characters that breathed. laughed, and cried just like the rest of us. At least that was my intent. Early on, I coaxed them from the Punch and Judy type stage and moved them around the sets to interact with each other and with me, which made them even more lifelike and fun.

Today very little puppetry as performed in my era exists, having given way to the technological marvels of digitized animation, which produces a wonder of its own. However, if you're in the mood for a return to the past where puppets come alive in performances actually happening before your eyes, then you may enjoy my shows.

And here is a collector's prize

Reviews

Dan DeYoung:  I just wanted you to know I finished your book and really enjoyed it...I know it sounds cliché, but I both laughed and cried when I read it.  It was particularly fun to see how events in your life shaped who you eventually became.

Bill Murdock:... In the vast throng of books published each day, it can be hard to pick out those that are truly remarkable, whose words leave the page to touch the soul. This is one of them.

Melanie Hoff: "It made me laugh; it made me cry.  Thank you, Mr. Jackson, for writing such a provoking, yet feel good, book.
